Group applauds decision to cancel abortion service
A Right to Life spokesperson said Friday that cancelling abortion service at a Fredericton hospital is a good thing if it stops more women from having the procedure. "Many of these women have abortions but later regret it because they didn't have the full information in front of them when they made the decision," said Peter Ryan. Every year, the Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton performs about 400 abortions, which accounts for almost all of the publically funded abortions in the province. As of June 30 that will no longer be the case, the hospital announced Thursday.
