Unsafe Abortion

In summary, the story was that a woman had died, leaving behind her six children, because her husband, John Ave, forced her to have an unsafe abortion. The 40-year-old husband was reported to have taken that action because he felt that he would not be able to provide for a seventh child. Ave, a mason, obviously of little means, was likely unable to afford the exorbitant fees charged by trained medical officers who clandestinely offered safe abortion services in private facilities. His choice, therefore, was a nurse in the community who inserted some herbs into the private part the woman and gave out a few tablets of some medicine to reduce pain. That cost him the life of his wife. In addition, he had to battle with the legal system for trying to reduce his financial burden of looking after more children.
