Dr. Walter Wolfe dies; was abortion activist

Dr. Walter McIlhaney "Mac" Wolfe, a retired University of Louisville medical professor who helped lead the local effort for women's reproductive rights, died Wednesday at his Louisville home. He was 84. Wolfe joined the U of L staff in 1965, just after the introduction of the birth control pill. He had recently retired as a lieutenant colonel after 20 years in the Army Medical Corps, including service in Korea. .
